HAIRSPRAY MUSICAL!!!

My World

A few weeks ago we premiered the musical that we do the students of last year.
I had already done the musical last year since I really like singing and dancing. It is an experience that makes you relate to many people of your course and when you finish the musical you all feel like a family.
Last year we did the musical of Fame and the chosen one of this year has been Hispray.
The day of the musical was approaching and the nerves were appearing. Honestly the general rehearsals and the hours before did not go very well, but the time came for the actual performance. The stage was full of colors skirts, tupes, exaggerated maquillages ...
And the show started !!! The truth esque lasted 1 hour 30 minutes or 2 hours, but behind the scenes do not stop to prepare things and rehearsing for the scenes that are missing so those hours pass very quickly, when you want to realize the musical is over.
That is the moment when you show everything you have been preparing, the work of the teachers and people who came to help us with lights, microphones...
And it seems to lie in that short time that the performance
lasts has been reflected the work of two quarters and when the performance is over, everything is over, music classes, rehearsals at recess, dance classes, laughter , ALL

Casino on Fire – level 3

A gunman stormed into a casino in Manila, poured gasoline on the gambling tables and set them ablaze. Thirty-six people suffocated from the smoke and at least 70 people were injured in the huge stampede away from the fires.

Philippine authorities believe the attack was unrelated to terror, and that it was simply a robbery. However, people discovered the suspect dead at an adjacent hotel of a planned suicide.

Difficult words:

ablaze (on fire)
stampede (the rapid movement of a crowd)
claim (what somebody says or thinks)
adjacent (nearby)

Mobile Bookshop in Baghdad – level 3

In Baghdad, a bookworm named Ali al-Moussawi turned his van into a mobile bookshop and makes up to $4,000 a month as he sells books around the city.

Al-Moussawi said that it took him nine months to achieve his idea and he hopes that it will bring people’s attention to and promote reading.

As he moves his van, he changes the books that are on display. This is because the city is still divided and in Sunni areas, the books on Saddam Hussein are still popular.

Difficult words:
bookworm (a person who enjoys books), promote (make something popular), divide (not the same in what you think about something), Sunni (a religious group within Islam).
